The Challenge

Expanding a live power plant without interrupting existing generation required meticulous tie-in sequencing, with hot-work permits and energised bus coupler shutdowns planned to the minute alongside active generation units.

02

Our Solution

We developed a detailed tie-in and outage management plan, deploying specialised high-voltage switching teams and constructing the new turbine hall in modular sections that could be connected during planned weekend outage windows.

03

The Outcome

500 MW fully synchronised to the national grid on schedule, increasing site output by 62%. The new DCS control room consolidated all plant operations onto a single Honeywell Experion platform, reducing operator response time by 40%.

The expansion was delivered without a single unplanned outage to the existing plant. The DCS integration work was particularly impressive — seamless from day one.
