Design and deployment of a 400-RTU SCADA network for real-time monitoring of a gas transmission pipeline, with fiber optic backbone and cybersecure control room architecture.
Deploying field RTUs in remote Central Asian steppe with no grid power required solar/battery autonomous power design for each unit, while cybersecurity requirements demanded physical and logical air-gap architecture between OT and IT networks.
We designed a 48V DC solar-hybrid power system for each RTU site, installed hardened fiber optic repeaters every 80 km, and implemented IEC 62443-compliant network segmentation with one-way data diodes at the OT/IT boundary.
Full 400-node network operational 3 months ahead of schedule. Year-one uptime of 99.97% exceeded contractual SLA of 99.5%. The control room architecture was certified to IEC 62443 SL-2 by TÜV Rheinland.
